Audi TTS Mk2 Front OEM Parking Sensors Retrofit With OEM Grille Holders And P Button
Audi TTS Mk2 sensors are one of those upgrades that instantly make the car feel “complete” the moment you nose into a tight space—because guessing where that low bumper ends is fun right up until it isn’t. 🚗🔧
Ever crept forward thinking you’ve got loads of room, then realised the TT’s front end is basically a stylish optical illusion? That’s exactly where a proper OEM front sensor setup earns its keep. ⚙️✅
What was fitted on this Audi TTS Mk2
This retrofit used a full OEM-style front kit with 4 sensors. Two corner sensors were colour coded and fitted neatly into the painted section of the bumper, so the finish stays factory-clean. The two centre sensors were mounted using proper OEM Audi grille holders, which is the detail that stops it looking like an afterthought.
To keep it reliable long-term, the wiring was routed through the bulkhead rather than taking shortcuts. We also replaced the rear-only module, then fitted the correct front and rear module so the car can actually run the system properly. Finally, the dashboard button panel was swapped for the version with the extra P button, then everything was coded and tested to confirm correct operation.
The clever bit: you don’t even need to press the button
On these cars, you don’t actually have to hit the P button to make the sensors work. Instead, the system activates automatically when it should, which feels properly “Audi” once you’ve lived with it for a day.
Because of that automatic behaviour, the retrofit doesn’t just add beeps—it adds confidence. Also, it keeps the cabin experience OEM, which is exactly what you want in a TTS.
Why OEM sensor placement and mounting matters
Sensor positioning is everything, so we kept it true to OEM layout: colour-coded corners in the painted bumper, and centre sensors in the grille with the correct holders. As a result, detection stays consistent across the front, and the bumper still looks right from every angle.
That’s why this kind of job sits firmly in the “done right or don’t bother” category, especially on performance cars where the details show.
Where vag retrofits can go wrong (and how we avoid it)
With vag retrofits, the hardware is only half of the story. The other half is correct module selection, clean wiring through the bulkhead, and the coding that tells the car what’s been added.
That’s also why we always finish with a full check and test. If the car doesn’t recognise the modules correctly, you’ll get odd behaviour, faults, or missing functions—so we make sure it leaves working exactly as intended.
If you’re planning a similar upgrade
We carry out vag retrofits and diagnostics every week, so if you’re researching what’s possible on your TT/TTS, it’s worth browsing our website portfolio to see how OEM-style installs should look when they’re finished properly.
