Wireless CarPlay Retrofit

Still using Bluetooth for music and a clunky mount for navigation in your car? Come on — it’s the 21st century. This Wireless CarPlay Retrofit project completely transformes any vehickle, adding wireless Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and a fully integrated reverse camera — all without replacing the factory screen or butchering the dash.

Let’s be honest — factory infotainment in early cars just doesn’t cut it anymore. No wireless connectivity, no Google Maps on-screen, and definitely no Siri. So when this customer came to us asking for a smarter, cleaner upgrade, we knew exactly what to do. The solution? A Wireless CarPlay Retrofit that works seamlessly with the factory screen — no ugly aftermarket units, no lag, no compromises.

What We Installed – Factory-Look, Fully Loaded

This retrofit included a wireless CarPlay and Android Auto interface module, integrated directly into the OEM infotainment system. That means no screen swaps, no Frankenstein wiring, and no clunky third-party menus. Everything operates just like the factory intended — only smarter. Navigation, Spotify, WhatsApp, calls — all controlled via the touchscreen or voice assistant.

We can also add a reverse camera, fully integrated into the factory system. Pop it into reverse, and the screen instantly switches to a crisp rear view with dynamic guidelines. It’s the kind of feature you’d expect on a 2024 model — now it can be retrofitted to most brands like BMW, Mini Mercedes and more  that left the factory without it.

Why This Retrofit Makes Sense

Many cars  came with App-Connect as a paid option — and even then, it usually wasn’t wireless. If your car missed out, this retrofit gives you everything you need without paying dealer-level prices or losing your OEM look. Plus, it’s completely reversible (not that you’ll ever want to go back).

We used our vag retrofits tools to code the system correctly, ensuring no warning lights, no compatibility issues, and full integration with existing modules. That’s the difference between a professional job and a plug-and-pray eBay kit.

How Long Does It Take?

This job took around 2.5 hours start to finish — including full testing, coding, and calibration. While we worked, the customer relaxed in our waiting area with a hot drink, free Wi-Fi, and a front-row seat to the magic happening in the workshop. If you’re planning a retrofit that takes a bit longer, you can explore Higham on the Hill or grab lunch nearby.

Why We Use OEM-Style Integration

We don’t believe in cutting corners — or dashboards. Our retrofits are designed to look, feel, and function like they came from the factory. That means using proper coding tools like ODIS and VCP, routing wires through existing channels, and avoiding anything that screams “aftermarket.”

With vag retrofits, we’re not just adding features — we’re unlocking your car’s full potential. And yes, that includes SFD unlocking, firmware updates, and component protection removal if needed.

Thinking of Upgrading Your VW?

If you’re still stuck with outdated tech in your Golf, Passat, Tiguan, or any other VAG model, it’s time to change that. We install Wireless CarPlay Retrofit systems for customers from Redditch, Manchester, Birmingham, London, Leeds, and Edinburgh — and they all say the same thing: “Why didn’t I do this sooner?”
